About this speaker
Professor Sarah Johnsen is Director of the Centre for Homelessness and Inclusion Health at the University of Edinburgh. She has been involved in research on homelessness and related forms of social exclusion for more than 20 years. Much of Sarah’s most recent work has focused on the experiences of and policy responses for people affected by ‘severe and multiple disadvantage’, that is, the co-occurrence of homelessness, substance use and involvement with the criminal justice system. Beyond research, one of Sarah’s key teaching ambitions is to help equip housing, health and social care professionals to work effectively with people experiencing homelessness and other inclusion health populations.
