About this Talk
LGBTQI+ people are disproportionately represented in the numbers of people experiencing homelessness. Recent research by CACHE found that 1/5 of LGBTQI+ adults surveyed said they had been homeless at some point in their life (by statutory definition).
This session will address some of the issues unique to LGBTQI+ homelessness and explore how to make services more inclusive. Through a combination of presented information, chaired conversation and audience Q&A; including spotlighting akt’s Trans Pathway, Micro Rainbow’s work with LGBTQI+ Asylum Seekers and Tonic Housing provision for older LGBTQI+ people.
Staff will leave the session will an increased understanding of resources to access when supporting people experiencing homelessness who are in the LGBTQ+ community
